Expungement Procedure

EXPUNGEMENT PROCEDURE

A person cannot apply if it has been less than 5 years since the date of conviction. Other rules apply (see MCL 780.621)

They need the following:
1.) A Register of Actions (ROA)
2.) They need to fill out an “APPLICATION TO SET ASIDE CONVICTION” and it must be notarized by the court.
3.) They must get fingerprinted (and get a fingerprint card) at

(Complete personal information on the card. Make sure that the place labeled “FBI & State” is marked in block E of the card under “Search Requirements”).

They must send the three above items (ROA, Application to set aside conviction, and fingerprint card) along with a $50 money order to:

P.O. Box 30266
Lansing, MI 48909

Allow 4-6 weeks for processing and mail delivery.
